A fog start to a very lazy day.....

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

I woke this morning to what I thought was another dull day but in reality it was fog. Not thick at first but soon it seemed to just roll in thicker and thicker. Moisture was dripping off of everything before very long. Riley and I stuck to roads we know during our walk and went together so she wouldn't get lost or turned around. Before our walk ended we were taking off hoodies and thinking we were over dressed as the sun came out, the temperature rose and it was almost humid for about an hour. After that the desert settled down to being it's usual self. Only photos were taken during our morning walk.

Outside our door as the fog gets thicker.

Looking across the wash.

The road is out that way.

Moisture dripping from the bush. Very sweet smelling, almost a cloying scent.

The sun burning through the fog and the branch of an ocotillo that the water drop had fallen off just before I snapped the pic.

Doug & Yuma were to move here today but the WL wouldn’t cooperate and so we will wait and see what happens next.

Water drops on an ocotillo branch.

That's a lot of moisture for no rain.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

Until next time...

Take care, be safe,

Deb

  3. Weird to see fog in the desert. So much water and the temperature is just right. It was everywhere ... Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma .... I bet the plants loved it!

    1. They smelled wonderful on our walk. The fog was weird. I’m sure there is a conspiracy theory about all the fog. Lol

    1. The fog was strange and got very thick quickly.
Hopefully the WL just needed to think on it and will start today.

    1. It was very strange, the temps didn't change drastically, there was really no water anywhere and so there really was nothing to explain the fog, or at least not to me. I've seen it swirl around the mountain tops but never down low on the valley floor.
