A busy day..........

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

Today we had a few chores to handle and so by 8:20 am we were pulling the Igloo along as the Big Dog headed down I-8 East to the Chevron Station to dump our tanks. From there we headed back on I-8 but West to the rest area for water and to use the dumpsters. After that it was back home again and once parked back in the same spot and things set up we headed to Yuma for some groceries. Our day's chores were completed by 1:00 pm MST. An afternoon happy hour with the neighbours and our day was complete.

Little 'cities' pop up on holidays here in the Imperial Sand Dune area.

Different sized groups gather in various places near the dunes.

This paragraph is for my reference, Chevron Station $10 dump but no water of any kind, not even to flush the hose. Rest area has potable water and is easy access. Lots of dumpsters, easy on and off. Rest area is 4 miles past Ogilby Road exit in the middle, so a left hand exit but a right hand entrance.  Walmart is on South Pacific Avenue, also has a drinking water dispenser, 5 gallons for $1.

The Imperial Sand Dunes.

This area was almost empty a week ago.

Now there are dozens of rigs here.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

As you can see, it was a cloudy, cool day.

The All American Canal. All photos were taken while hurtling down the road (Riley took them) at 60mph.

Until next time...

Take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. Accomplished a lot in one day. You and Riley are set for another couple of weeks. Going to be a hot time in the sand dunes this weekend.

    1. We did a fair amount and I’m happy to have those chores behind us with the holiday coming. It will be busy everywhere I think but the dunes will be quite dusty I’m sure. It should make for some nice sunsets I think.

  2. We always noticed too that right after Christmas those RV cities began popping up everywhere. The nothern snowbird RV gang will right now be stampeding south. Batten down the hatches.

    1. We are as battened as can be but the little holiday cities have slowed the internet down, be glad when they pull out again.

  3. We used to go to Winnemucca Dunes and Sand Mountain back when our kids had ATVs. It was so much fun just people watching and seeing how fast they go! Miss those days! Great pictures!

    1. I’m happy to see the folks enjoying their time. The noise and dust do not bother me, we all have our own idea of fun and as along as they aren’t circling my rig for hours at a time I enjoy the photo op. Lol.
