We all went out today.....

 

Our Location: 

 MM 91-90 SB AZ 95, near Quartzsite, Arizona

 

I chatted with my dad this morning while I had coffee and caught up on all the news. The deer hunt is on, gun season of course, bow was earlier. I'll keep ya posted as to who might be the best hunter this year.

Riley and I headed out for a walk around 8:30 am and managed to enjoy the views even though it was a little chilly. The walking was easy as except for a few deeper washes the rest is simply a bit humpy bumpy.

No one around.

 

We returned to find Doug & Yuma up and getting ready to have breakfast. We had a plan today and we managed to execute the plan to a T. We left Yuma guarding the rigs and took the Dogsled into Quartzsite. We needed a few little things and it's the first time we've been here when it's not been busy. It was actually quite pleasant getting around. 

 

Not many vendors open yet but lots of tents are up.

Beer Belly's Bar and the ice cream machine wasn't doing it's thing, so it was very quiet.

 

We puttered around  here and there while Doug made a few purchases but Riley and I didn't find anything we wanted. We next stopped at Solar Bill's and meet Jody and Gus (the new Bill) before we headed off to the grocery store, the water stop and Discount Solar. After that it was a smooth easy ride home. Yuma was happy to see us all and did an excellent job at guarding the home dirt.

Later I couldn't find Doug & Yuma but climbed into the Dogsled to head much farther back behind our old campsite. I wanted to find the signs I'd seen before. Amazingly enough there was D & Y heading back home after a leg stretch. They climbed in the cab with me and eventually we stopped, walked and found the signs. A few photos of saguaros, signs and Yuma and we were heading back home. Yuma wasn't ready to get out of the Dogsled and so he and I took a little circle of the parking area before he was ready to head home.

Getting a little support from a friend.

 

A good day here, the wind wasn't too strong but I found it chilly. Maybe my thermometer is out of wack or something, but I've been wearing a zip up hoodie most days, not always zippered but it's a fairly heavy one. It keeps me warm enough and in the early mornings I wear a pair of light knit gloves to keep my hands warm. It warms up nicely through the day though.

You can see it gouged pieces out and they've healed.

 

Condolences to the Pyette family back home on the passing of Eugene a few days ago, Nov 17. He was a quiet, soft spoken man, with a quick smile and cute little chuckle. I don't ever recall him raising his voice in all the years I knew him. His was a gentle old soul. 

 

The wash is skinny but deep.
