Lest we forget...

Our Location:

Saddle Mountain BLM, Tonopah, Arizona

Yesterday’s post.

Today's photos are a continuation of yesterday's time with Doug and Yuma.

Now what do you think happened to this saguaro?

He seems to have recovered.

Yes it's leaning.

Lots of scars and holes, and battle evidence.

But it appears to be moving right along.

The underside of the overhang. More chunks ready to come down with the next water or rain.

Yuma is a handsome fella.

I bet we could get over there , but we didn't try.

I climbed up there a few times on that long slope.

Light and shadow play on the water way down the mountain side.

Normally there would dozens of rigs here but not now and not the last time we were here either.

The cave is on that mountain top, the guard doesn't look like a guard from this angle.

Not easy walking by any means.

Like last time, I still can't read what it says.

A happy birthday to Uncle Don who celebrates today. The magic number? We aren't sure, it's a closely guarded secret but lots of face cream is used every day to keep that youthful appearance.

A quick stop while jeeping along to see the above story rock.

The white line is I-10 way over there.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Until next time...

Take care, be safe,

Deb

Always enjoy seeing pictures of the Saguaros up close and looking forward to seeing them in person in a few days.

    1. Very true, I don't think anyone will ever forget.
There is nothing quite like the desert and it's wonderful array of picky things. LOL

  2. Those cacti certainly are resilient! It is amazing that they can continue to grow even after all that damage.

    1. Me as well. I'm always amazed at the amount of 'damage' that appears and yet they are still so green and vibrant.

  3. It amazes me how some of those saguaro are still standing when their bases are so war-worn.

    1. That is the one thing I always notice, any saguaro that is of any age looks like it's been beaten around the base. Unless they are youngish, they are so rough at the bottom.

  4. I will try and translate the rock the best I can. It says they have been trying to reach you as your car warranty is about to expire. Well that is what get out of it. Vern in Boise( hope this helps)
