NO post, windy, windy, windy, windy day.....

Our Location:

BLM on US 62 East, near Carlsbad, NM
No post today, we didn't do anything. The wind blew, and blew and then it blew again and blew again all day long, it made us rock 'n roll' and sway and dance but we managed to stay anchored after I ran outside to fasten us down with some steel cables to hold us in place and not blow us any further across the flat lands.  We stayed shut up inside doing a little cabinet cleaning, reading and such. Other than a couple of cows either trying to eat the step or knock on the door, not one thing happened today.

Riley chasing the step eaters or door knockers....
At least one of them is afraid of her....

We can't see much at times and the low level mountains you noticed in yesterday's picture I assume are still there but I can't verify that yet.

We were smart enough not to bother them so they won't be chasing us....

Such a beautiful sight....

I hope you have had a calmer day than we here in the BLM near Carlsbad, NM.

She can't see me here so she won't chase me......

Until next time... take care, be safe,

Now this is the west I've been expecting.

    1. This is good weather to visit the caverns, not windy underground.

    2. We couldn't make it to the truck without being blown off course. We had steady winds of 28 - 35 mph with gusts over 40 mph. We just stayed bolted down inside.

This morning has dawned sunny, blue and windless although the forecast yesterday called for winds today too. Hopefully they're gone now.

  2. Southern New Mexico is windy just about weekly, and Guadalupe Pass is too.

    1. Thanks for the information. I grew up on a rock in the middle of Lake Huron, so wind isn't a new thing for me, and we've had what I consider to be pretty high winds while at Joshua Tree so again it's not new. It's just irritating after a while. Makes one house bound.

  3. We had some wind yesterday too but it was not too strong and very welcome here with the hot temps.

    1. The temps were warm, pushing the 80F mark but it was difficult to open any windows as the dust seeped in whether or not they were open a crack or an inch. I will say I'm tired of wiping the counter top and stove though. Hahaha....
