A walk in the arroyo....

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

The wind died completely at 4:30 AM this morning but it was a light breeze for the day starting around 8. The perfect breeze, enough to keep us cool but not enough to kick up the dust. We all mostly stayed home doing our own thing for the day until around 3:30 or so when we joined for happy hour. Other than that its been a very quiet day.

A short walk in the arroyo to catch some colour and a beautiful sunset while I was talking to dad are the only photos tonight. I hope you enjoy them.

Until next time...

Take care, stay safe,

Deb

  1. It was a lovely day for a walk or sun tanning, which is what I did!
Nice to see a green Ocotillo, I'll check the one at the library park soon.

    1. The colour is starting to brighten on most things. Maybe some blooms will be showing soon.

    1. Thank you Vern. The sunset was spectacular, We haven’t had very many of those or sunrises either this year, many cloudless mornings and evenings. The sun simply pops up or slides down with very little fanfare.

    1. The sage is flowering and it looks as if the ocotillos are turning green, a few of the ironwood or mesquite bushes have flowers and the prickly pear cactus looks to have possible blooms on it. Splashes of yellow here and there with the bright light green of the ocotillos, it’s very pretty.

  4. It is great to see tiny green leaves on some of the Ocotillo...😊 The end of last night's sunset was beautiful.

    1. I agree with both statements. The fresh green reminds me of a hint of spring with its promise of better weather to come. The sunsets are amazing with a few clouds in the sky, not something we have seen a lot this year. The sunsets I mean, we have seen enough clouds.

    1. I too love the desert and I agree it is so much more inviting when there are splashes of colour here and there in random places. You are most welcome for the pics.

  6. With the wind the way it is I am surprised more tents and canopies are not blowing away.

    1. They have been known to do that and I am glad we are heavy enough to stay put during the winds. Not fun, I’m not a fan of eating dust, gritty teeth are not my thing.

  7. Thanks for sharing Deb, the desert where you are is ahead of us here in Wickenburg. We do not have Octillo leaving out yet. Hope your having a great winter .

    1. We are having a great year. The ocotillos are slipping quickly from brown to green, or at least some. The sage is bright and the blooms yellow, which I love to see. I’m sure Wickenburg will catch up quickly.
