A very dusty and windy start to 2023....

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

Hello 2023, what a start to the year.  Fog, dust and wind, wind and did I mention wind. Advisory for wind and later for blowing dust. Yes, we managed to get both, lots of sustained high winds and plenty of blowing dust. We have a fine layer of dust over everything and I see a good vacuuming in the near future. Needless to say we stayed inside all day as eating dust is not something I enjoy. A very short visit with Doug this morning as he and Yuma came over for a quick Howdy before the dust started blowing around.

A campfire last night with the neighbours, Deb, Tom and Doug.

Love the flames.

Do you see the horse?

Fireworks going off all around us but the fire was pretty.

A very pretty blue.

Love the colours.

The beginnings of the blowing dust....

Beyond those bushes you can see nothing, the dust is so thick.

At some points we couldn't even see the mountains, this is a lull in the storm.

Parts of the afternoon were so dusty the camera wouldn't hold focus as dust blowing by would make it too difficult. .

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a dust free new years day!!

Until next time...

Take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. Ugh, I am having flashbacks of dust everywhere on the counters of our rig!

    1. We started off with the door open. Lol. I’ve been wiping everything but I think we need to haul out the vacuum.

  2. Vacuuming ... not my favorite. It's crazy how much dust and dirt can get inside a rig.

    1. Not mine either but it isn’t a big space so it doesn’t take long. I have a pet vacuum and it works pretty well and we haven’t vacuumed in a while so it’s time anyway.
