A second post today…..

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

Tonight’s post is just sunrise pics taken this morning on my iPad. A very pretty start but the sun didn’t really appear as it was behind cloud cover all day. We could see hints here and there but nothing definitive. Today I put times on some of the photos to give you an idea of how the sunrise moves along and the timing involved. Often times the change is drastic in a few minutes and yet it will start slowly and seems to pick up the pace as the sun begins to top the horizon. A fast finger is a good asset.

Deb and I chatted as we photographed the sun rise and again later over morning coffee where Tom joined us but I didn’t do happy hour this afternoon, aching things told me to stay out of the chilly damp air. The day was very chilly with no sun. Long pants and heavier clothing are required today.

A birthday greeting to sister in law Janet who celebrates today. I will be talking to her later but I’m certain she has been enjoying the sunshine and golfing more days than not. We often stay at her farm in Roseneath, Ontario on our way both north and south. This year we didn’t stop but will see her next week here in California. We always enjoy our time at Buttercup Ridge before heading farther north to our summer spot. Happy Birthday Janet, we hope you have had a great day.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

Until next time….

Take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. I knew it had to be beautiful out there before I got up but wasn't going to disturb the family to run outside. Glad you got out! It sure seems funny saying it is chilly without the sun when it is 17C but it's true!

    1. Riley says she doesn’t hear me when I slip outside in the morning. It was very pretty, lots of colour but no sun. The wind makes it cold and the upcoming last night brought a dampness to the air. Chilly is relative to time and place, in the fall 5C in Ontario is cold but in the spring 5C is balmy after the winter. Being used to sunshine also makes a difference I think. To quote my grandfather “No matter which direction the north wind comes from it’s cold!” Lol
