A few rainy days....

Our Location:
Summer Spot, near South Baymouth, Ontario, Canada

Since we are having another rainy day I thought I’d just drop a few lines here to say we are all fine and doing well, hoping for warmer weather, and an end to the virus. However at this point we’ll settle for warmer weather.

I think I may have posted this one before but I like it.

A number of rainy days here of late, which are good and bad at the same time. Good because it means the ground will be warming up, new life will spring forth and we will feel as if we have some kind of natural order to our lives again. Bad only because it means we are stuck inside in the cold and damp weather, which of course isn’t much fun. Oh well, we need the rain and soon we will be blessed with warm sunshine right?

The road to Dad's house.

Soon we will put the umbrella up and start using our back yard eating area.

Home sweet home.

We refer to this as the bowl. See how dry it is?

Not so dry now after all the rain.

I told you it was a gravel pit, quarry.

A few photos of the area around us, we walk these paths and plateaus, fields and roads often but always enjoy the views. Spring is coming but it’s very slow. We are hopeful it will arrive before summer.

The birch trees are starting to bud out now.

I happened across this video, thought maybe some of you other Canuckies out there might enjoy it. Up here in Canada.

Thanks for stopping by, we hope you are all well, happy, healthy and safe.

Until next time… take care, be safe, stay healthy,

Deb

  1. Hopefully you will get sun and warmth sooner than later. Today was our day but it is cloudy and cool and we even had a rain shower. So much for sunny and 20C. I love watching the tree buds get larger and larger and then suddenly they open. You are in the perfect place to enjoy nature, so different from your winter locations.

    1. I think Old Man Winter is gasping, and gasping and gasping yet again as we are looking at temperatures that if we are fortunate will reach the freezing mark for day time highs for the next 3 or 4 days, we won't even discuss the overnight lows.
I too, love to watch the buds pop into being leaves as it seems almost a magical event.
Very true, our summer location is vibrant and green, but we love the desert landscape as well. They each offer us a nourishment of some kind, be it for the eyes or the soul, I'm not sure, but they both work to make us happy and enjoy our time spent in each one.

  4. What a catchy tune that is. I've read so many Canadians' blogs that I knew nearly all the references, including Corner Gas. From Florida I travel virtually along with several folks. I'm guessing you 'summer' about as far north as anyone. Hope your weather improves sooner rather than later.

    1. Thanks Barbara. I thought a little entertainment might be nice and perhaps cause a smile or two to brighten the day. It's always wonderful to travel (no matter physically or visually) to various places and events, it's amazing how much we learn!
We are a bit far north I guess but usually we get wonderful weather here (this year is an exception), and we enjoy the greens, blues and wonderful views!!

    1. Thanks Shirley. It's a beautiful spot and we are fortunate to be able to park here. It's a short 7 minute walk to get there and it's great exercise. Too short to drive unless the weather is bad, and long enough to get the blood pumping a little bit with the uphill and downhill part of the road when we walk.

  10. Your pictures just keep confirming the beauty of the place you park your home when in Canada. Spring is certainly coming to the north finally. Stay safe...hugs to you both.

    1. Thanks. Welcome to my little neighbourhood, I hope you enjoy your visits. The Island is a wonderful place in nice weather, but as you know the winters near the lake can be tough and it seems as if this one doesn't want to let go. Hopefully spring arrives soon and we can all get outside, on deck, patio or just what passes for either of those. It will be nice to feel the warmth again!!!
