A quick update...

Our Location: Quail Ridge Rv Park, Huachuca City, Az

A quick update with no photos. I've been a bit of a sluggard and haven't taken a single photo for a number of days now.

Monday around lunch time Riley and I settled into Quail Ridge Rv Park, our first hook ups since we left Lincoln Parish Park in Louisiana in November. A couple of things have kept us thinking about our route home and since we couldn't really decide we figured we'd stay a bit longer in this area and take the time to figure it out.

Also the weather hasn't been exactly nice, with rain and clouds pretty much every day or night starting Monday night, not a lot of rain of course, just enough to make things muddy, damp and messy. So we opted to settle in here for a week and enjoy ourselves a little bit.

I've talked to dad a few times, like the Bayfield Bunch, they are getting good weather although they did manage a couple of inches of fresh snow in the past day or so.  Riley and I have managed to do a number of errands, with a couple more in the works before we head out on Monday morning.

Since we don't plan on anything exciting, I wouldn't expect many or maybe even any posts before we pull out.

An email from the BLM/Empire Ranch reached me a few days ago, once again the apologizes were coming fast and furious and loud and clear. It seems they will be checking further into the problem and ensuring in the future all requirements are met by anyone applying and receiving a permit.

I've been reading posts every morning but I usually do it on my iPad and I can't comment using that device, so I haven't been saying much to anyone. We all know some days we have nothing to say in a post or a comment. I've been finding myself in that situation for a while now.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time... take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. I know what you are saying. I think that is why I am so far behind just have not felt like saying anything. Though I have been taking pictures...lol Hope you two enjoy your time at Quail Ridge. Always nice to take a shower and not worry about the amount of water you are using. Be safe.

    1. We have nothing to say of any interest and so it's easier and less painful for everyone if I just check in once in a while. Haha
Hope you folks are having safe travels and good health.

  2. Great that you and Riley are on dry land this week. It has been a miserable week with the weather. Moved out of the parking lot but the rain has followed me. We have had a large amount of rain. Thanks for the update. Enjoy yourselves.

    1. Thanks Doug. Glad you've moved from the parking lot. Maybe you should be having the White Lion measured for poontoons. Haha.

  4. Nice that you are at Quail Ridge for a week. Wish we were there with you! Next winter though! Some days are like that, just don't feel like anything. Enjoy you two!

    1. Thanks Shirley. We will have to make an effort to cross paths for a few days in the future. Perhaps more than once even. Haha.
      Safe travels to you folks.

  5. Good of you to check in. I'm glad to hear you are both okay. About time the Empire Ranch contacted you. It's always a toss of the dice ... hookups or no neighbors .... hookups or no neighbors! Enjoy your time there.

    1. Thanks Nancy. Riley and I are having a great time here, not that we do much with anyone else but it's nice to have full hook ups once in a while for us. Although it might be wiser to be boon docking at this time due to a number of little things we felt this is the best place right now.

  6. Enjoy the hookups. I don't always have much to say but the enjoyment of putting words on paper is bred into me. A trait I proudly received from Mom. :)
Take care and stay dry, healthy and warm.

    1. Thanks Patsy. I've always enjoyed putting words on the page, there are times I write but decide not to post for various reasons. Sometimes it's more a matter of feeling I have nothing interesting to share and since we aren't doing much walking, exploring, photography or interaction with others I write a post but then delete it after I've read it over because it's not in the least bit interesting to me and I feel for the rest of ya and leave it blank hoping for a better day in the future. Haha

  7. Quite impressed, that you have had no hookups since last November. That was quite the run. For your route home have you ever traveled the Natchez Trace. They have free camping along the 400 mile stretch. Some interesting history along the route.

    1. Thanks Peter, I'm glad we could impress you. However I'll really impress you when I tell you that our last hook ups in the spring are usually late April/early May at Buttercup Ridge in Roseneath, Ontario until we return again in late October on our journey southward. Our summer location is strictly boon docking on a high hill.
I've thought about the trace and we've discussed with a few folks as well. We haven't so far taken the route but my dad always enjoyed it whenever he took it. Some friends of ours will be taking it in the future and so perhaps we'll do some pieces of it in the future. Thanks for the thought, I appreciate it.
