Cold, rainy day...

Our Location: Las Cienegas Grasslands, Sonoita, Arizona

A gray, miserable, rainy day interspersed with blue sky and sun for 5 minutes at a time. The blue sky promised but the clouds and rain just over powered it again and again and again. Rain all night, for over half of the day and still now as I write this post shortly after 7 pm. Tomorrow should be only a cloudy day, we shall wait and see.

The blue sky and the sun appeared giving us hope.
But within minutes the skies returned to this.

The ground mostly absorbs the water quickly.

More teasing.

I talked to sister Jan for a while today. She and Rick are feeling much better and they think spring may be coming but who knows.

I couldn't get all the photos to load for some reason but you at least get an idea of the kind of day we had. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a good day.

Until next time... take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. Rain here, also. It stopped in the early afternoon and even though the clouds did look threatening again they moved south...I guess your way...:( Though we did have a sun shower around 6 o'clock. Liked you last picture and its title...lol Hope you see the sun tomorrow. Stay safe.

    2. Thanks. Hopefully the sun will shine, the temps will warm and we can enjoy a few more nice days here.
I have no idea why the photos wouldn't load but oh well, enough loaded to show the kind of day we had so that's all that counts.

  2. Looks like there is a fair bit of bad weather going on out there in the southwest. By the ground color around you I'd say you are into that gumbo mud situation. Makes for one big mess in the rig.

    1. We are behind the bad weather now, it came to us in the form of rain and cold days with some strong gusts but nothing dangerous.
The gumbo dries out pretty quick in most places I think but we've only a couple more days before pulling out and I don't see us doing much driving so it shouldn't be too bad.

    1. The rain ended sometime during the day here and I think it will dry up pretty quickly in most places. It had started to dry up even since we left this morning, you could feel it wasn't as soft driving along and some of the water holes and catches are slowly lowering from the morning levels. Nothing is too deep and so I'm not worried, we may get a little muddy but oh well it's better than salt and snow.

  4. We had light rain off and on all day Tuesday, but no heavy wind. Through the night, Wednesday early morning 4 a.m., the winds picked up, rocked the trailer a little with gusts up to 36 mph. Still raining this morning with clearing called for around 10 a.m. Sun and wind advisory for the this afternoon and evening, with guts to 45 mph. Stay dry and take care.

    1. Glad all is well with you folks out there in those long flat plains. We're heading toward the upper reaches of Texas this coming week and hopefully the wind issues will be long gone by then. Congrats on the new grandson!!!

  6. The Weather has been unbelievable this entire winter throughout the continent. Another Weather Bomb as they call it hitting Arizona that will eventually make its way to the Great Lakes.
Stay Safe and Enjoy the warmer temperatures then back in Ontario.

    It's about time.

    1. So far we haven't had to shovel anything, nor salt the steps going outside, scrape the windows, or wear our mittens, long johns or winter coats, so I guess we shall not complain too much. It hasn't been a bad winter, just not as good as last year. However, once again, we'll take it. We're starting to head farther north and east in a few days and I am seeing some much better temperatures in the forecast so I'm confident things will be good.
