Our Location:
Road Runner BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona
This morning dawned chilly but sunny. The day heated up nicely as it went along. It was a day spent doing a number of little things around the Igloo and the Dogsled, a nice walk this morning and some time on line doing some research.
A few saguaro photos from Road Runner BLM. At least three top knots on this guy.
He's the interesting looking fella with the three top knots in the first pic. . A few photos are of this guy and the debris at his feet.
Shortly after 3:30 pm we all climbed into the Dogsled and headed off to La Posa South for another visit with fellow Canadians, Dave and his lovely charming bride Cheryl (from Alberta) and Bill and his lovely wife Patsy , who hail from our home province of Ontario. We had a lot of laughs, and the time slipped past very quickly. Bill and Patsy left first and we departed quite a while later. It was nice to meet Dave and Cheryl this year, we hope our paths cross again in the future.
You can see the ribs are full of some kind of pulp. It look like flaky paper thin hide, but it's tough and still holding together even in death.
The spines are still sharp, and you can see the ribs of the Saguaro.
Left from the rain. |
Thanks for following along, I hope you enjoyed the visit.
L to R: Cheryl, Deb D, Riley, Bill, Patsy, Tom and Dave.
Until next time.....
Take care, stay safe,
Deb
Whoa! That's a lot of saguaros that are past their prime. All in our area?
ReplyDeleteNice visit with fellow Canucks.
It is always nice to visit with folks, even if they aren’t fellow Canucks.
DeleteThe saguaros are all with in a short walk of our campsite.

Great to see you all together on this beautiful day. Starting tomorrow it will be great weather. Now the weather is turning for the better, Yuma and I may stick around for awhile and do some exploring.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great day, we missed you in the circle and even mentioned that fact. Take a ride out to the BLM road and see what it’s like for future use! In better weather it may be the place park in the seasons ahead. I mean since you are out anyway!

It certainly has been a different winter ... makes us appreciate the "good" winters even more.
ReplyDeleteVery true. My grandfather used to say,” If you don’t have bad days, how will you know to appreciate the good ones?” I think we have learned enough this winter to appreciate the good days for a while at least.
