North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California
A walk this morning, sitting in the sun with my reader and a very nice, very long happy hour. Lots of laughs, chatter and maybe a tall tale or two, we gathered between the Igloo and the Dogsled to get out of the wind and enjoy the shade, by the time we went inside we could count the stars. It was a good time.

| I found a number of prickly pear cactus with a few blooms, |

| some with lots of buds, some with only a few and some with none at all. |
 |
| Some had single flowers, some had more. |
 |
| It will soon open up. |

Not many pretty blooms in the desert, but cactus blooms are fabulous!! The colors are just amazing.

Those blooms are amazing to me. How can something that looks like that produce such a pretty bloom? 33 days, you gotta be getting anxious to start your homeward journey!

I like the way the desert blooms in stages and at different elevations. the cactus are stunning
