A few more photos.....

Our Location: Saddle Mountain BLM, Tonopah, AZ

The last few days have been lazy days with only one outing for us. We gathered up Doug and took a ride to Winterburg for some cough/cold meds, water and propane. We managed two out of 3 with the meds and the propane (Doug needed a couple of little cylinders) but headed out to Tonopah for the water.

I managed to climb a small hill the other day and this is the view.

According to the locals that is the reason for the flies.

I believe it's either chickens or eggs production in those lovely white buildings.

That is the Igloo way over there behind that mound.

Lots of water around in some places, one of the washes we drove through had a couple of inches of water flowing across. The Big Dog was like a young pup as he splashed through.

The Igloo over there in the distance.

That red vehicle is on Salome Hwy.

That was the highest point I climbed.

I just love the views, even if I'm not up very high.

Do you see the rig back there?

I was out and about this morning, just puttering. I noticed Doug had hooked up the jeep to Miss Adventure and I watched him drive away. I doubt we will be seeing any more of her and she will be looking for new owners to share her adventures with.

Another rig back there.

And more over there near the base of the hill.

 Some pretty colours are around.

Doug's rigs and his jeep way over there.

Cooler today with a slight breeze and I think Riley and I will just once again rest up today. I'm hoping to get out and about tomorrow maybe and do a bit of a walk or hike. I can feel my energy level returning now.

The last series of photos above were taken during our rainy day and stormy evening a few days ago.

The jeep is hidden down there somewhere.

The jeep is now hooked to Miss Adventure. Do you see Doug locking the door to the White Lion?

Doug is now climbing into Miss Adventure.

They are off to the consignment place.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Until next time... take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. You made the Miss Adventure story a bit sad. Even I teared up just a wee bit. She will be fine and if we were closer we would come have a look at buying her.

    1. I"m sorry to make it seem sad but I think it's always a little sad when we trade homes/rigs that have been so good to us in the past. However I have no doubt she will be going to a good new home. Did you need a tissue? haha

  2. I just stumbled onto your blog. I used to have some friends that lived in Tonopah that I visited regularly so Googling Tonopah eventually led me to your blog. I'm a fulltimer and boondocker myself so I'm always interested in folks blogs that boondock, so I'll give yours a read. I always Enjoy reading about how others live this lifestyle, and I'm always open to learning something new.

    1. Hello. Welcome to my little blog. I hope you enjoy what you read, see and learn. It's not edge of the chair gripping exciting but it is a journal of sorts to keep track of our lifestyle while we travel in the wonderful southwest each winter. I'm always interested in learning things too, seeing new places, faces and views. Enjoy the ride.

    1. We enjoy neighbours but not lots of them or really close ones unless we know them.

    1. Thanks Shirley. It was a kind of bittersweet moment to see Doug heading off on his last adventure with Miss Adventure but I thought he might like a photo or two for himself. I have no doubt someone will enjoy Miss Adventure for many more years to come it just won't be Doug.

    1. Thanks Doug. I thought you might like a couple of 'last' photos. I"m looking forward to reading about the new adventures in the White Lion and watching as you figure things out. I'm sure you will begin to appreciate all of that space very soon, I also think you will miss the freedom of Miss Adventure but I think it will be a good trade for you.
