This morning Riley and I had errands and chores to accomplish. We loaded ourselves, the laundry, propane tank, gas can, etc into the Dogsled and headed off around 8:30 am MST. Our first stop was diesel and gas (for the generator) at the Arco Station at Exit 2. Diesel was down to $4.49 per gallon. We managed to fill both the truck and gas can and get rid of some garbage all at one place. A good start to the long list.
Our second stop was for propane at U-Haul. Here I was informed it will be the last fill of this tank as it expires at the end of the month. Looks like we may be using smaller tanks until we get back to Ontario to exchange this one again, since it left Ontario as an exchange. What a pain in the ... On the plus side, it was cheaper to fill this tank than last time. Less than $30.00 USD for a 30lb tank from flat.
Our third stop was the laundromat. We managed to snag 4 big washers and within two hours had our laundry all completed and back in the truck. We also managed to find a post box for some mail back home. Two more things off the list.
The last stop was at Walmart on S. Pacific Ave for groceries and drinking water. We managed to find everything we needed, fill up the remaining 4 drinking jugs and put a jug of Def Fluid in the Big Dog. Wow, we were finished and heading home around 12:30 MST.
We pulled in as Doug was pulling out, he came back for a quick chat and then scooted off to town. Riley and I managed to get everything put away and sitting down to lunch within the hour. We were happy to have this long list behind us.
Around 3 pm MST the Stinger B and family pulled in. We went out to greet them and then came back inside while they did their parking and setting up. We had a quick happy hour and soon the cold and rain had us all heading inside. All is well in the neighbourhood.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit.
Until next time.....
Take care, stay safe,
Deb
A long list of chores, but you have to feel goo that they are all completed.
ReplyDeleteNice sunset photos, jope your weather held for another one tonight. We're socked in :)
We are happy to have the list behind us. Many little things but they all are necessary and take time. One trip and they are done. Thanks Jeff, I don’t think it’s possible to take a bad sunset pic. We are having winds and traces of rain drops and wind. Did I mention wind? Lol. I think I’ll just stop combing my hair as the wind gives me a new do every minute or so. Lol

Nice to get chores done. So far today only a few drops of rain found us.
ReplyDeleteI like getting all the run around chores accomplished in one trip, life is easier for me that way. We had some rain overnight but mostly it’s been scattered drops in bunches 107 per bunch. Lol. However the cold winds make it uncomfortable sitting outside for long. We see a warming trend in the long distance forecast so hopefully that comes as predicted.

Love it when you get everyone done that's on your list. It's a good feeling.
ReplyDeleteLol. I’m sure that’s a typo. I spit my coffee all over my iPad when I read that! Lol. Yes it’s nice to get EVERYTHING done in one trip.

We had a nonexchange tank expire when we were in Canada last year. Had to buy a new one on the spot and left the old one behind.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of exchange is that you can exchange them when they run out, and therefore never need to purchase a new one but I can't find anywhere to exchange the big tanks down here in the USA. I have found that it is less expensive to use the exchange services in Ontario. The filling of tanks is very different in Ontario and we don't get nearly as long of use from a filled tank as an exchange tank.

Good to have those chores done and out of the way. Tom and Deb are back and we're all together again. Hopefully, we have great weather for more activities.
ReplyDeleteIt is always nice to have chores done. It gives one a feeling of accomplishment. It’s nice to have the gang back together and hopefully we get out and about to do a few things.

I'm still following along enjoying your travels. Love your blog & photos. A few days ago, we got 2 "Canadian" tanks filled at the Pit Stop with no problems.
