A beautiful sunrise followed by a mesmerizing show of shadows and light on the Cargo Muchacho Mountains. A visit or two with the neighbours, but otherwise a quiet day. The kind I like.

Early this morning as the sun was sneaking up ....
It got brighter and brighter....
And prettier and prettier....
It was more orange than yellow but the camera won't pick up the colour.
It was pretty....

On my walk the sun and the mountains were playing with shadows. The variations on the mountains is always interesting. The mountains look completely different from one moment to another on a cloudy day or early in the morning. The shadows play up crevices or cast darkness that varies in degrees, from pitch black to a lighter gray. Time dictates which side of the crevice the shadow falls on and just a few minutes can change the look entirely. I hope you enjoy the show.

Heading toward the mountains, in the day light most are blackish or a light brown in the right light.
Those are usually a light brown with veins running through them.
Those mountains under the cloudy sky have a dull appearance this morning.
That light tan colour in front is their normal colour on a sunny day.
I posted a photo a few days back where the mountains were much different in colour.
A few days ago during the fog. Notice the different shades?
The same mountains, what a difference.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you had a fantastic day and that you enjoyed the different views of the shadows/light/ and colours in the few photos today.
Until next time...
Take care, be safe,
Deb
Amazing how those mountains change color by the hour. Same mountains but different looks.
ReplyDeleteThey always fascinate me with there quick changes. The sun makes such a difference and they seem so inviting in the sun but more foreboding in the the clouds.

I like when the shadows turn mountains black.
ReplyDeleteIt is always an interesting thing to watch, like a mood falls over them and makes them angry or happy depending on the moment.

It was a great sunrise. I do love how the mountains change colors out here. I especially like when there are big fluffy clouds and enough of a breeze to keep them moving then the shadows seem to dance across the mountains.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great sunrise, I had to check to ensure they were Jan 4 photos as they looked very similar to previous ones I posted. Lol
DeleteThe mountains always fascinate me but the mood change is always interesting to see with the shadows and light. Personality I guess is what I would call it.

Very interesting how there are subtle differences in the colors. 90% of the people probably never even notice.
ReplyDeleteSome of the changes are stark, almost minute by minute and others are very subtle. Not to worry, I notice enough for everyone. Lol.

The changing colors of the desert. Always fascinating and so hard to capture the essence.
ReplyDeleteVery true, but it’s fun to try.
