Another good night's sleep. They are now becoming a habit and I like it very much. I could get used to it.

This morning I posted a blog for yesterday and then decided to forgo the visit with blogger friends this morning and instead head out for a walk while it was cool. I didn't follow any straight lines and just wandered around from here to there. I was gone a couple of hours. It was a nice way to spend some time this morning. I've been having trouble getting out for a walk and I have no idea why but it's been a struggle.

Home just before noon and we spent the rest of the day doing pretty much nothing. We read for a bit and Riley even napped for a while. After that it was just some quiet time doing a little of this and that. A call from dad to see how things are going and I called my sister as well. My sister and her partner Rick seem to be recovering from the flu but it's a slow process. Hopefully it doesn't make the round through their house again as it seems to want to do everywhere else.

Riley and I have been out among more crowds than we like the last while and so have decided to take a few days of just being quiet and relaxed. Not exciting to read about but we enjoyed it. We have a few tentative ideas for tomorrow but have made no plans. So will see how things go.

Those are fantastic pictures of the cactus, trees and well.....everything. Nice job. I sure miss the desert......but we've seen some nice things here in the East this year.

Things look so lush out there. Are you sure you are in the desert? Siting around taking it easy enjoying the passage of time is what retired is all about. :O)
ReplyDeleteThey do look amazing don't they? You can see some patches in the washes where the ground is still damp from the rains they had before and the green is spectacular against the brown. Like an oasis almost.

I love seeing the patches of green on the desert floor. Great pictures of the life all around us who are lucky to be parked out here in this beautiful place. I read not only quiet but perfect.

Very true Patsy. We are fortunate to be here in this desert land and enjoy the peace and quiet that it provides but also the hustle and bustle if that is your preference. The best of both worlds I suppose.
DeleteThanks. I love the cacti, all of them. They hold a great deal of history and many secrets as to how they arrived at their current state. If they could talk I'm sure they'd amaze us with their stories. Every scar and hole would be worthy of a story time.

I was getting used to having good sleep nights and then last night awake at 0200!! UHHHH..finally back to sleep and then a crazy, scary nightmare..try again tonight :) Pictures are awesome. Glad you got out for your walk you got the best pics!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shirley. I'm sorry to hear you too have nights of insomnia. I don't dream often though or at least I don't remember dreaming. I just wake up and then I'm done sleeping. Like those old cowboys that are instantly awake when their eyes open. Haha
DeleteThe walking here is different than the walking back in our summer spot. There I walk for exercise and set a pretty good pace. Here I just kind of wander around from some interesting thing to the next. If you followed my path you'd think I was drunk or lost. Haha
