A rainy night and day….

Last night’s sunset and today’s rain.

Sunset January 21, 2024

Happy Birthday Courtney, I love the hair. Her hair is usually a very pretty auburn colour but she had it bleached in preparation for some additional bright colours!

Last night it started to rain off and on and it has continued all day. These were my wet forays outside this afternoon. I hope you appreciate how wet it was out there for me take these photos for you!

The wash is dry at 1:51 pm.

It is no longer dry at 2:51 pm.

The high ground is also starting to have little rivers.

It is now 3:35 pm, there is a strong current present. 

From this to…

to almost nothing in just 30 minutes.

A very odd shaped cloud as the rain ended.

The rain is over….it’s almost sunset.

It is completely dry now.

I did nothing to any of the sunset photos. No editing of any kind.

Sunset photos.... the only ones I took all day.....

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

 

I'm becoming a lazy sluggard and haven't walked for a number of days now. On the plus side my hip feels pretty good. So maybe a couple more days of sluggardness is in order. Sleeping is a tough thing for me and I often wake up in the middle of the  night and can't get back to sleep. Such was the case last night, although I did manage to fall back asleep about the time I'm usually getting up and so I slept through sunrise. The rest of the day was spent doing very little and I enjoyed every second. Some visits with Deb & Tom and the end of the day is the only time I took any photos. So enjoy. 

 

The new neighbours make it a bit more challenging to get good sunset photos.

 

The problem when I zoom to get the colour is the photo looks fake.

And far away doesn't show the colour nearly as well.

Over the Stinger Bee is some pretty pink, I think Tom is starting to BBQ.

It was yellow and pink and orange with the rippled clouds low down more reddish.

Across the wash the colours and clouds are changing.

As it sinks lower the sun leaves fire in it's wake...

The pink is darkening a bit and beginning to show almost a purple hue just before it starts to fade...

The temps are dropping just as quickly as the sun.

Turning more bluey purple than pink as it starts to fade.

The colour is losing some fire and black/gray is starting to show.

The fade to black was quick and I missed it. Sorry. All of tonight's photos were taken with my iPad. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the sunset tonight.

Today we ran errands......

 

Our Location: Empire Ranch, Sonoita, Arizona

 

It was cool this morning, about 50F/10C but it started warming up as soon as the light started showing in the eastern sky. A beautiful sunrise this morning and I think we may just have a spectacular sunset tonight but I'm guessing about that as I write this post.

Today we ran errands for a few hours in Sierra Vista. Groceries, a few odds and sods, fuel and such.  It took us a couple of hours and we didn't hurry at all. We didn't take a single photo while we were out and about.

It's getting darker.

 

I talked to my dad last night for a while. Things are going well there but winter is coming. I also spoke with my friend Linda. We chatted for a while, laughing and remembering, and just enjoying the conversation. Hopefully Linda and hubby Randy will make it to warmer climes this winter. It's always nice to chat with Linda, we can pick up conversations right where we left off no matter how long as passed between contact.

You would think the tree is on fire...

 

Last night while chatting with Linda I was looking out the window hoping for a sunset which really didn't happen and I noticed off in the long grass about a half dozen Pronghorn Antelope. They didn't seem to be in any hurry and just kind of hung out, grazing here and there for about a half hour. Not close but not too far away. 

 

It just keeps rising.....

I'm still taking photos with my phone as I can't seem to get the camera to recognize the sd card.  I'm not sure I believe what the fella at Best Buy told me about my Nikon D3100 only taking a 16 GB or smaller card, but there are none to be found here and we looked in lots of places. So I think when I settle into a location for a couple of weeks I'll look for a camera shop to maybe help me out.  The phone takes good photos but not nearly as good as the camera. So we'll just have to make due.
