A second post today…..

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

Tonight’s post is just sunrise pics taken this morning on my iPad. A very pretty start but the sun didn’t really appear as it was behind cloud cover all day. We could see hints here and there but nothing definitive. Today I put times on some of the photos to give you an idea of how the sunrise moves along and the timing involved. Often times the change is drastic in a few minutes and yet it will start slowly and seems to pick up the pace as the sun begins to top the horizon. A fast finger is a good asset.

Deb and I chatted as we photographed the sun rise and again later over morning coffee where Tom joined us but I didn’t do happy hour this afternoon, aching things told me to stay out of the chilly damp air. The day was very chilly with no sun. Long pants and heavier clothing are required today.

A birthday greeting to sister in law Janet who celebrates today. I will be talking to her later but I’m certain she has been enjoying the sunshine and golfing more days than not. We often stay at her farm in Roseneath, Ontario on our way both north and south. This year we didn’t stop but will see her next week here in California. We always enjoy our time at Buttercup Ridge before heading farther north to our summer spot. Happy Birthday Janet, we hope you have had a great day.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

Until next time….

Take care, be safe,

Today we ran errands......

Our Location: Empire Ranch, Sonoita, Arizona

It was cool this morning, about 50F/10C but it started warming up as soon as the light started showing in the eastern sky. A beautiful sunrise this morning and I think we may just have a spectacular sunset tonight but I'm guessing about that as I write this post.

Taken out the screen door as he looks for dinner.

The only good photo of the sunset last night.

Today we ran errands for a few hours in Sierra Vista. Groceries, a few odds and sods, fuel and such.  It took us a couple of hours and we didn't hurry at all. We didn't take a single photo while we were out and about.

The Pronghorn Antelope out the dining room window.

It's getting darker.

I talked to my dad last night for a while. Things are going well there but winter is coming. I also spoke with my friend Linda. We chatted for a while, laughing and remembering, and just enjoying the conversation. Hopefully Linda and hubby Randy will make it to warmer climes this winter. It's always nice to chat with Linda, we can pick up conversations right where we left off no matter how long as passed between contact.

Sunrise through the bedroom window

You would think the tree is on fire...

Last night while chatting with Linda I was looking out the window hoping for a sunset which really didn't happen and I noticed off in the long grass about a half dozen Pronghorn Antelope. They didn't seem to be in any hurry and just kind of hung out, grazing here and there for about a half hour. Not close but not too far away.

It just keeps rising.....

Sorry about the screen, but well....

I'm still taking photos with my phone as I can't seem to get the camera to recognize the sd card.  I'm not sure I believe what the fella at Best Buy told me about my Nikon D3100 only taking a 16 GB or smaller card, but there are none to be found here and we looked in lots of places. So I think when I settle into a location for a couple of weeks I'll look for a camera shop to maybe help me out.  The phone takes good photos but not nearly as good as the camera. So we'll just have to make due.

The beginning of sunset tonight.

The phone camera doesn't pick up the yellow very well.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

The sky is starting to light up now...

The sun is showing the dust in the air in front of the mountains.

Until next time,

Let the light show begin....

Take care, be safe,

From fire to coals to fading to black now....

Another quiet day .....

Our Location: Near American Girl Mine Road, BLM, CA

An amazing sunrise this morning will be the only photos of the day. I didn't take another photo after that.

Another quiet day here, we thought we'd let everyone do those things you do the first day after a long weekend, laundry, shopping, etc. Tomorrow we will be heading out to do our own list of things.

Today we enjoyed a walk together, reading in the sun and once again getting back into the BBQ mode.  Only our second bbq since arriving in the southwest.

As I write this post I can hear the wind whistling around the edges and under the awnings of the Igloo. I didn't see any forecast for wind but who knows. Very little sunset tonight as the clouds pretty much stopped it from happening. A little hint of pink and then it was gone.

I love the ripple like appearance in the sky.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

Until next time... take care, be safe,

(the photo for this spot didn't want to load, so you will have to take my word for it that the sun actually popped over the horizon)
