Busy, busy, busy.....

Our Location: Near American Girl Mine Road, BLM, CA

I spoke with daughter Courtney last night after writing my post, she called about 7 pm our time. Toronto had snow, ice and rain. Not in that order, and not all at the same time but over the course of the day.

We entered Arizona today.

A restless night for me, I found it difficult to get to sleep, tossing and turning until well after midnight. I wasn't in any hurry to get out of bed this morning but was still awake around 5:30 AM.

Yuma always welcomes us.

We had plans for the day and so were out the door before 8 AM for our walk. We just kind of wandered around here and there, checking out a few other spots in which to park. We stopped when we were hailed by Kay, our next door neighbour. She and hubby Bill are from Colorado and have been coming here for many years. Both are in their 80's, quite a pair. We chatted for about 20 minutes before coming on back to the Igloo to get on with the day.

Hey Buddy, look, it's my favourite store!!

Breakfast, sorting the laundry and packing up the truck kept us busy for a short while and we were off shortly after 10 AM. Our first stop was the I-8 rest stop for a garbage dump and then on into Yuma. We of course wanted to do laundry but upon visiting the spot we used last year we were disappointed in its cleanliness and so opted for a different spot. Wash Mart was the place we ended up using. Nice friendly folks, lots of washers, clean and not too busy. We were in and out in a couple of hours, which is the usual time it takes us.

This was in the Walmart parking lot.

From there we headed to Lin's Grand Buffet. Of course George and Suzie love this place and they crossed our minds often while we managed to enjoy lunch. A wide variety with lots of shrimp and fish dishes, but many other things to pick from as well. We did not leave hungry.

Agricultural Inspection station, I lied, told them I had nothing.

From there we stopped to put a few dollars of fuel in the Big Dog, he was getting thirsty. I know I should have waited but I had a blonde moment and didn't wait until Fry's. Next time I'll remember. Of course you know our next stop was Fry's. We managed to pick up a few things there that we wanted but not everything on the list. However Dad, we did manage to get that bottle for you!

I love this sign!!!!

Our next stop was Walmart where we managed to get everything else on the list. Good  because we were tired and ready to head home. It was a long day. We didn't get back into the truck until almost 4 pm. Home by 4:30 pm and the groceries and laundry put away by 5 pm.

A tiny little church on the hill in Felicity.

Now time to sit and relax with an adult  beverage and write this post. I can tell you that tomorrow we are not going anywhere.

Don't ya love the stairway?

So there you have it, a very busy day for us. We aren't used to such labour!!!Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

Until next time... take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. We were out doing errands today too. We drove by Lin's Buffet and I told Jerry that was a place George loves. We hope and pray George and Suzie will enjoy lunch there again.

    1. We probably passed on the street and didn't know it.
George and Suzie introduced us to many things here in the southwest via their blog and we think of them often. It's good to see in their Blog George is moving around in that wheel chair and still taking photos, his food photos are still pretty interesting too.

    1. We try to keep out of trouble, and I think busy is a way to do that.
You are too funny my friend. Harbor Freight is the store in question. I actually posted that photo for my buddy Ron, wondering if it would lure and Sharon this way for a while. Haha

    1. I'm glad to know my dollars aren't lonely there. Haha.
George and Suzie are the reasons we first ventured to Lin's. We enjoyed our second visit much more than our first. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

    1. I had a headache for a couple of hours after we left. I wondered about a reaction to the MSG.
However I too love Chinese food.
The little church is very cute and always makes me smile when we pass by.
