Another quiet day....

Our Location: Near American Girl Mine Road, BLM, CA

A warm night, still lots of moonlight even though the moon is no longer full. I'm finding it easier to do my blog around this time which means I'll not be able to post the sunset photos of each night but I'll post them in the following blog I think.

Last night's sunset. These low clouds were the result of another burn and the sun's rays catching them turned them amazing colours as the last breath of sunlight found them.

The moon this morning as I stepped out to watch the sunrise.

I had my walk in before 8:30 AM this morning. I started out taking photos of the sunrise but moved in a direction that didn't allow me to see the sun as early as I do from around the Igloo. So this mornings sunrise is different.

Some pretty pink in there.

You can see the sun's risen by the light on the mountain.

I spent some time doing a few little things around the Igloo and before we knew it was time to start lunch. Today we decided on something quick and easy. Smoky Mesquite Loin Chops and stuffed green bell peppers. We followed that with some peaches, which we both truly enjoy.

I'm in a different location as I watched sunrise this morning. It was much later as the mountain it finally peaked over is taller than the one I normal see in my camera lens. It's about to pop now but as you can see in the photos above and below, it is already showing light on the mountains to the north.

As you can see the sun is pretty high in the sky at the moment but just popped over the area that I was watching.

A few folks coming, some folks leaving, we even checked out a new spot but opted to stay where we are for now at least.  It was just a wonderful day, resting, reading, puttering, walking and gazing. Warm with a bit of a breeze that could turn cool if you were in the shade too long.

I always start my mornings alone but a tall, quiet friend always shows up after sunrise.

Green growth in among those sticks.

Sorry it's not exciting but we enjoy it. Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time.. take care, be safe,

This is the wash that goes right by our door.

Old tire in the wash frames this photo.

    1. Thank You Judith, you are very kind, I appreciate the kind words. I just think our life is pretty quiet compared to some others. We are happy to stay home and putz around, take a walk and read. Nothing exciting and I'm not sure it makes good reading.

    1. Thanks Nancy. I couldn't do crazy busy. I'd explode. Haha.
The moon is forever surprising me with it's daytime appearances.

  3. The moon has been so bright up here against the snow that it is almost like daylight in the middle of the night!

    1. Oh I believe that. I remember those kinds of nights as well. Always lovely to see the snow glisten and sparkle in the moonlight.

    1. Thank you Shirley. You are too kind. Lunch is easy when it's all done on the BBQ. It takes longer to cook than to prep. I like those kinds of meals.

  7. Watching the sun come up starts the day wonderfully but I love seeing how it touches the top of the mountains. Thank you for sharing that part with us. I always enjoy your pictures of what you see on your walks.
    Stay safe.

    1. Thanks Deb. I'm always fascinated by the sun, either rising or setting but the journey across the sky in the day time with the cloud playing on the mountains and the desert floor always capture my attention.
You would like it here, lots of Ocotillo around. Very green now.

  8. Seeing the sunrise over the mountains is a sight I've yet to see - living here in the Prairies. I can see there is always something of interest to see and watch in the desert. Enjoy!

    1. Thanks, we do enjoy the desert. We have only been coming here a few years but have come to love many things about it. I'm certain the Prairies must also offer some incredible views of both rise and set of the sun.
