An amazing sunrise...

Our Location: Near American Girl Mine Road, BLM, CA

(yesterday's post)

A wonderful light show this morning as I wandered around the desert trying to find something to liven up the morning photos.

I chatted with our friend Ron back in Kansas. They are the friends we had hoped could come west for the winter with us but for reasons beyond anyone's control that didn't happen. Ron explained that our night time lows are higher than their day time highs. I'm glad we're here.

Sunrise through the branches of a Palo Verde Tree.

Taken through the center of an old tire.

We enjoyed the day, both of us heading off in different directions for our walks but making it back to the Igloo within minutes of each other. Good timing, it was time to prep lunch. Honey maple chicken breast, stuffed zucchini (zucchini, carrots, celery, mushrooms, onions, asparagus) and potatoes with onions. All cooked on the Weber Q by the way George. Low and slow. A slice of fresh banana bread as well. Yum, Riley certainly makes a good job of it.

The moon way over there as the sun is coming up.

Some reading, some sun, some shade, a bit of a cool breeze, or at least it was cool to me. It had me putting on a sweater when I was bbq'ing lunch around 2:30 pm.

Such an amazing sky.

Daughter Courtney called later in the evening for a chat. She is my oldest daughter, lives in Toronto and works for the Toronto Board of Education. The city of Toronto received a great deal of rain on Wednesday, while farther north my dad was receiving snow. Very windy in both locations over the past few days.

Noticed this fella on my walk this morning.

A bit closer view.

So that's our quiet day here in the desert. We have no complaints, we like it peaceful and quiet. Thanks for stopping by.

The sun through a sage brush.

Sunrise on the mountains.

Until next time.... take care, be safe,

It definitely adds a different view.

  2. Beautiful sunrise and pictures of it. Sounds like a wonderfully peaceful day and that lunch sounds delicious. I always love how the different angle of the sun changes the mountains throughout the day. Enjoyed your pictures.
