Catching up with some reading......

Our Location: Roosevelt State Park, Morton, MS

Only 3 campers remain here in the quiet, leaf littered park. Very little sunshine here and late this afternoon we had rain drops falling through the tree canopy. Although not enough to get us wet when we took a quick walk around the loop.

Very narrow roads here.

Very steep.

I spent some of the morning catching up on some of my blog reading. I still haven’t gotten caught up with everyone but I’ll read some more tomorrow. Some very sad news in some of those catch up reads. Numerous folks not travelling this year, loss of pets and some medical issues for others. I didn’t read each and every post but I did read many of them. Some of the highlights were new destinations for some, meeting of friends for others, and of course, some were just continuing along the regular lines of winter travel. Some shock, some awe and some smooth travel.

The leaf littered grounds here.

Vines grow every where here. Multiple on this tree.

A day to recognize the service and the sacrifice of those men and women that have in the past and do currently serve in the world militaries. We are free to enjoy this lifestyle due to the service of these brave souls. We owe these people a debt that we could not possibly ever pay. Today we remember their service, their sacrifice and their dedication.

The vines grow big here, and oddly shaped too.

A vine actually growing around a bigger vine.

On that note I’m going to sign off for the day and leave you with some photos I took around the park today. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

It's very steep and narrow.

Until next time…..take care, be safe,

That's us up there.

  1. Glad you are Enjoying the warmer temperatures along with the Walking Paths that Mississippi has to offer. It does make you wonder how certain things grow there but not back home in Ontario.
Hoping your repairs will see you through Safe travels.

    It's about time.

    1. Thanks Rick. We are enjoying our time here in the shadows of the Mississippi trees, and the walking paths are interesting for sure. The vines remind me of the wild grape vines or poison ivy vines back home, they seem to invade slowly at first but get a good firm grip on become almost impossible to get rid of.

You and Kathy stay warm in that frigid north cold.

  2. Well those are definitely some narrow steep roads along with a lot of tall trees where you and Riley have landed. Take care.

    1. Very narrow and steep, I went back to the ranger office to ensure I had the right instructions. Haha. They assured me that I could fit without any issues. The trees remind me of other areas in the deep south as well, Georgia, Alabama and of course lower Mississippi around the Gulf. I've not travelled much in these upper reaches of Mississippi and so I find it interesting that the skinny roads and long tall trees prevail throughout the entire state or so it seems.

  3. Sometimes, I have to just stop and read to catch up too. And then a lot of skimming takes place from the older posts.
Nice to see you making your way south, there have been a lot of disappointments and some cancelled or delayed plans.
    Stay safe!

    1. I"m glad to know I'm not the only one that finds it hard to keep up/catch up sometimes. There truly has been some disappointments and changes of plans but hopefully things will improve and we can all once again enjoy this lifestyle. I was sorry to read about Clemson.

    1. Thanks Contessa. I took the header photo at our summer location. If you look down to the left side you will see the roof of the Igloo. The water you can see off in the distance is Georgian Bay which is in Lake Huron. Sunrise over the Igloo!

    1. Little too shady for us as we're looking for sunshine but it's quiet, peaceful and a much needed rest. So it fits the bill!!
