It’s supposed to rain…..

Our Location:

Cabo San Lucas

Baja California, Mexico

I’m soon going to stop and give up, Blogger will win and I will post nothing. This is my third and final attempt.

Buenos días amigos. Cómo estás?

Good morning friends. How are you?

The heat has lessened and two days of rain are forecasted. The average daily temps are running 26/27 C or 79/80 F with the night time lows hovering no more than 5 degrees lower. Hopefully the rain washes away some dust and helps settle it down for a few days. Time will tell I suppose.

Not very appealing

Yuck……

Tequila anyone?

Talking to dad every night, it seems Old Man winter is coming with a vengeance, snow, snow, snow in the forecast. A white Christmas seems likely there this year. It appears cold and frigid north winds are also present and will remain for a while as well. Blowers, blades, shovels and mittens are all at the ready.

Our glorious Maple Leaf flies here in the harbour of Cabo San Lucas.

The marina is a very busy spot.

It is pretty.

Daily life is quiet, unassuming and predictable here. People are very friendly, very warm and welcoming. Their pace of life is very different and something I struggle with. Poco a poco, little by little or step by step, I’m getting better. We have been to the beach, the marina and the local shopping plaza. We are choosing an activity that is of interest to us both. We have both opted to bypass the camel rides.

We stopped here for a cerveza fría ( cold beer).

At the shopping plaza.

Testing my walking abilities one day.

I have chatted with Deb and Tom a few times. Once we even managed to have coffee together after the delivery of a can opener here to our little spot. It is always fabulous to chat with them, we managed to get caught up and have a few laughs at the same time. I see more morning coffees in the future. Deb is back to blogging and mentioned that some pictures from us might be nice. Deb I have delivered.

The beach is pretty.

A cruise ship leaving the harbour.

The beach is near the end of the Palm trees.

A different cruise ship.

I’m learning a little Spanish which in some ways reminds of my high school French, so it is not like starting from zero, after all I already knew 5 Spanish words before I arrived. I’m hoping to be able to at least understand things I read, even in a general way, it would be most helpful. However we shall see what time brings.

A tree outside one of the resorts.

Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas to all. We wish for this season to be filled with peace and love, inclusion and acceptance. We hope for ALL to be with those they love and cherish, to be safe, warm and happy. To have full bellies, no worries and to know true joy. Peace on earth and goodwill toward ALL, man, woman and child. It is within us all to achieve some measure of giving, even just a warm smile, handshake or hug, brighten a day, show some compassion, it doesn’t have to cost you a dime, it just has to be genuine, come from the heart.

A song that I’ve listened to many times over the years. The events are old but we can all insert the newest events easily. It is as relevant today as it was back in the day. A bonus ( if the link works) is the song is performed by a Canadian of world renowned Anne Murray.

Hasta la próxima, until next time.
Gracias por pasar por aquí, thanks for stopping by….

Take care, stay safe,

Deb

  1. Thanks for the update and pictures. Maybe just some FB updates and pictures rather than fighting blogs. I notice there very few people in the pictures. Is that the norm?

    1. lol…it was hard work Deb, my fingers are just little stubs now from all of that typing. I enjoy coffee drinking with you and Tom, it’s kind of a winter time tradition. I do think the world needs some TLC, a little good news goes a long way towards a brighter day. Hugs!

  8. Merry Christmas Aunt Deb and Riley! Thanks for sharing the beautiful photos of what nice weather looks like. I will spare you the view out my window this morning.... Vastly different, let's say. It sounds like your Spanish is coming along nicely. Crazy how close to French it is, and how much we can seem to pick up just by the little we know. I hope you and Riley can enjoy the slower pace and find some fun new hobbies to share when your return! ❤️ Love you guys, be safe.

    1. Merry Christmas Nicole. I hope you all have a wonderful celebration, many times over…as I hear the day will be early at your Mom’s. The words are much easier to understand than I thought they would be when reading but the pace of speech throws me off. Lol. Does playing in the beach sand qualify for a new hobby? Love you, miss you all. hugs

  9. What? No camel ride???? Gosh, it sure looks like a fabulous warm place to hang out for the winter. I too have found my French is very close to Spanish. The slower pace is different for sure, but nice to be able to relax more. Have a VERY Merry Christmas!!!!

    1. When I was a kid I recall a camel sticking his head in Uncle Percy’s car and slobbering everywhere. I remember the smell made me gag for days, so nope, no camels. I’ll pay for you to ride one though. lol. Merry Christmas to you and all the critters.

  10. I never knew that there were camel rides?? So neat to see the same cruise ships in your photos as the ones that pass by me and park near us. So we are connected in that way. The world definitely needs TLC. Meanwhile we are still ever so slowly setting up. Hard to believer it's December already. I suspect that it will be May before we know it. we have had a full week of cloud. Strange for this location at this time of year. I am not complaining. Nice to not have to run the A/C and to have the windows open. And of course my electric bill will be lower. Enjoy each day to the fullest. Nice to se you walking. Contessa

    1. Thanks Contessa. I thought of you when I noticed the cruise ships in the harbour, you posted a great many photos of them in your blog. Slow is the best pace here I think, the heat and humidity are much different than what we are used to in the summer, it seems more intense here. Feliz Navidad to you, Colin and the girls.

    1. Hi there folks. I’ve been seeing some fabulous family pics on your blog and such exciting news you shared in the last one! Congratulations to all. The pictures at least give an idea of the contrast in our past winners with this one. Still desert, sunny, cactus everywhere but the feel is so different. Thank you for the kind words, and I have always enjoyed her voice as well. Merry Christmas to you, Ken and all of the family.
