We remember…..

Our Location:

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

– Major John McCrae

We shall never forget. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, your honour and dignity, thank you for giving us something of yourselves that we can never repay.

Thank you for your service….

Our Location:

Road Runner BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona

Remembrance Day/ Veterans Day, to all that serve, have served and will serve, this day is a reminder to all of the sacrifices you make, have made and will make. It is but a few hours out of the year given in your honour but this day is filled with dignity, love and pride. It is a way of insuring that we never forgot those who have died, those that cope with injuries and losses that we can never imagine. It is to honour those that have no families left to remember them. It is a time to reflect on the fruits of your sacrifices, the freedom, the choices and the liberties you provide for us. We are forever in your debt, and so into this one day we pour all of our love and pride, to honour you and remember you! We all choose to remember you in our own ways, some with pomp and ceremony, some with family gatherings, and some quietly on our own, but no matter how we choose to show this honour and respect, we do honour, respect, miss and love you.

It is not that we only remember, or think of you on this one, for that is far from the truth, you are in our hearts and thoughts every day but is the one day a year when we all join as one to show you that we appreciate, honour, value and remember all that you do, have done and will do for us.

Thank you for your service.

Lest we forget...

Our Location:

Saddle Mountain BLM, Tonopah, Arizona

Yesterday’s post.

Today's photos are a continuation of yesterday's time with Doug and Yuma.

Now what do you think happened to this saguaro?

He seems to have recovered.

Yes it's leaning.

Lots of scars and holes, and battle evidence.

But it appears to be moving right along.

The underside of the overhang. More chunks ready to come down with the next water or rain.

Yuma is a handsome fella.

I bet we could get over there , but we didn't try.

I climbed up there a few times on that long slope.

Light and shadow play on the water way down the mountain side.

Normally there would dozens of rigs here but not now and not the last time we were here either.

The cave is on that mountain top, the guard doesn't look like a guard from this angle.

Not easy walking by any means.

Like last time, I still can't read what it says.

A happy birthday to Uncle Don who celebrates today. The magic number? We aren't sure, it's a closely guarded secret but lots of face cream is used every day to keep that youthful appearance.

A quick stop while jeeping along to see the above story rock.

The white line is I-10 way over there.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the photos.

Until next time...

Take care, be safe,
