The Arizona Marketplace....

Our Location:

North of MM 4, Ogilby Road, Winterhaven, California

This morning Tom, Deb and I sat around drinking coffee and chatting  until almost 9 am. We headed off to get ready for a 10 am departure. With Tom as chauffeur, we enjoyed the drive and soon reached our destination of the Arizona Marketplace. It was quite busy there today but we enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the vendors and even managed to run into Dave and Cheryl. Chatted for a few minutes and off we went. We also stopped at Walmart for a few little things and of course the UP Store and after that it was clear sailing back home.

How can you argue with that?

A late happy hour which ended shortly after 6:30 pm and our day wrapped up. A chat with Dad had the news that nephew Jesse and his lovely wife Claudia are now the proud parents of a baby girl. I know only that all are doing well. I have  no other information. Congrats to Jesse and Claudia on their little bundle, congrats to brother Rick and beautiful wife Barb on being grandparents again, and to Claude and Cindy on being first time grandparents. Dad of course is a great grandfather again, 14 as of today. A good day for all!

I'm not sure Riley found the first one funny.  Doug the on the right is for you!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by, the photos were funny things I read while at the marketplace.

Until next time...

Take care, stay safe,

Visiting with Canadian friends....

Our Location:

 Road Runner BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona

This morning dawned chilly but sunny. The day heated up nicely as it went along. It was a day spent doing a number of little things around the Igloo and the Dogsled, a nice walk this morning and some time on line doing some research.

A few saguaro photos from Road Runner BLM.

At least three top knots on this guy.

He's the interesting looking fella with the three top knots in the first pic. .
A few photos are of this guy and the debris at his feet.

Shortly after 3:30 pm we all climbed into the Dogsled and headed off to La Posa South for another visit with fellow Canadians, Dave and his lovely charming bride Cheryl (from Alberta) and Bill and his lovely wife Patsy , who hail from our home province of Ontario. We had a lot of laughs, and the time slipped past very quickly.  Bill and Patsy left first and we departed quite a while later. It was nice to meet Dave and Cheryl this year, we hope our paths cross again in the future.

You can see the ribs are full of some kind of pulp.

It look like flaky paper thin hide, but it's tough and still holding together even in death.

The spines are still sharp, and you can see the ribs of the Saguaro.

Left from the rain.

Thanks for following along, I hope you enjoyed the visit.

L to R: Cheryl, Deb D, Riley, Bill, Patsy, Tom and Dave.

Until next time.....

An outing with friends…

Our Location:

Road Runner BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona

Still windy this morning but would calm down some as the day went forward. The only plan today was a visit to Silly Al’s later in the afternoon. We all climbed into the Dogsled, leaving Yuma to guard home dirt, just before 3:30 pm MST and headed into town. We met Bill and Patsy along with Dave and Cheryl. An enjoyable couple of hours passed quickly and we were home again around 5:30 pm.

L to R:

A jeep ride, meeting some fellow Canadians....

Our Location:

Road Runner BLM, Quartzsite, Arizona

This morning around 10:30 am Doug, Yuma and I headed out in his jeep for a ride back toward the mountains. It was a leisurely drive and we stopped often to take a few pictures, climb a few hills and take in the views. I hope you enjoy the photos I'm sharing.

Quartzsite is over that way.

Doug and I came across this claim sign.

Even in death the Teddy Bear cactus is beautiful.

That's Doug way over there doing his word game.

Can you see him now?

The little Silver Streak is down there on the right.

A warmer day today and very little wind. The temperatures reached about 75F/24C this afternoon, perfect for sitting outside chatting with some new friends and some other well known ones as well.  While Riley and I were having lunch Dave and Cheryl from Alberta, Canada drove up and not 15 minutes later Bill (  On our way....)and Patsy ( Chillin' with Patsy...)from Ontario, Canada showed up. They all settled into the front yard of the Stinger B chatting with Deb, Tom ( Celebrating the Dance   ) and Doug ( Miss Adventures Travels  ). After lunch Riley and I joined them. The chatter was non stop and the afternoon passed very quickly and soon they were saying their goodbyes, Dave and Cheryl first and soon after Bill and Patsy. We have plans for another meeting in the near the future, so the parting wasn't a final one for this season.

The outhouse at an abandoned mine.

One of two cabins.

The other one of the two cabins.

The two abandoned buildings on the mine claim.

The mountains are ever beckoning to me.

Left around the circle, Doug, Bill, Tom, Deb, Cheryl, Patsy, Riley and Dave.

I hope you have enjoyed the visit. Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time.....

Take care, stay safe,
