Our Location:
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
A quick catch up and a few pics. The days are slipping past, we are winding down to single digit weeks before we head home. I will admit that I'm looking forward to getting home but we may have some left over snow when we arrive because they can't seem to get it shut off up there. I talk to dad every day and it snows, snows, and snows more. He and brother Rick have put hundreds of miles on the quads just moving snow this year.
Riley and I are enjoying our time here, we have discovered the wonderful cool and safety of evening outings. We go out after I chat with dad and just enjoy the coolness of 25/27 C or 77/80 F. We have ventured out most evenings, sipped a few adult beverages, enjoyed some cuisine, and truly just enjoy the sights.

We have booked next winter's accommodation, again in Mexico but not here in Cabo. Of course that could change depending on a number of things but we will worry about that if and when it becomes necessary.

Happy Birthday to Hudson, he turned 5 recently! He is a sweetheart, lots of excitement for the kids as I noticed some sledding pics! Also a belated happy birthday to Robert, he celebrated early in February. Condolences to Candice and her family in the loss of her mother on Feb 14. Condolences to Amanda and her family in the loss of her sister today. Also condolences to the Corbiere family and friends in the passing of Curtis.

The violence in PV has subsided according to all news sources. It is an interesting situation here in Mexico. The locals seem to accept it without any overwhelming concern but cautiously, they seem quite calm, just stay in doors and wait it out. A few days pass, the debris is cleared and life picks up as normal after a day or two. Here in Cabo everything was normal. We did not experience any major change in the air quality which isn't the best at any time, but the toxic black smoke of the vehicles on fire didn't seem to come this way. We stayed in just that one night just as a precaution for air quality but otherwise life is normal here.
Keeping with the theme of sharing some Canadian music I thought I would share some Kd Lang, an amazing voice, truly can give you goosebumps. She performs if possible in her bare feet. She claims it gives her a feeling of being more grounded. I picked this song that was written and performed by another Canadian, Leonard Cohen. I was never a fan of Cohen, although Richard liked a few of his tunes. So a double shot of Canadiana for you. The song is called
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the visit.
Until next time,
Take care, stay safe,

It sad, all the uproar North of you. I was always fascinated by the variety of food and drink in Mexico. That cake looks wonderful! The milk ... I don't know about that one! I'm not a fan of heat, but I think it's better than all that snow the East has been getting. Enjoy the rest of your trip and safe travels going home.
ReplyDeleteIt is very sad for the upheaval north of us. The culture here is very interesting, different but similar to Los Algodones, as it is obviously not quite as limited to certain medical tourism here but it appears to be quickly becoming so. I am having a difficult time getting my diabetic meds here but in Algodones it was very readily available, the same with a few other of my meds as well. There are many pharmacies here but they are not stocked with ESSENTIAL meds. The heat is a factor for me right now as I'm struggling a bit with the humidity but I'm not unhappy to be here. Thanks Nancy.

Good to hear that you are enjoying your time there. Like you, we are single digit weeks before starting our way home, hoping the snow is gone by mid April. Enjoy the rest of your time there, stay safe and safe travels home.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bill. I'm hoping the snow will be gone when we get home but I think the piles will still be around, they have feet of snow there. Always fun to get home and get adjusted again. Enjoy your remaining time in the desert.

Nice pictures and catch up. Sounds like you and Riley have fallen into a nice rhythm of enjoying your life there. Tom and I are happy for you both. Though, of course, we miss seeing you both. We are down to single digits of weeks, also, for when we start heading East. The time certainly does fly by. Stay safe...hugs
ReplyDeleteHugs. Thanks. We miss many things and of course you and Tom are at the top of the list. It looked like you had a good time back home over the holidays! We hope you are enjoying your new home as much as you enjoyed the old one. Be safe.

Wonderful to hear from you. Your winter seems to be just what you both were looking for. Your evenings sound lovely and peaceful. Safe travels home, our Ridge and home surroundings will also be white, we're sure, unless some miraculous melting happens!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patsy. Yes the feet of snow on the island is not going to leave without a fight. Lol. I'm assuming your own neighbourhood is much like ours as both of my daughters in southern Ontario have mentioned the amount of snow there as well. Good luck, enjoy your last few weeks in the desert.

What gorgeous views you are enjoying! In Ontario, we’ve had a snowy winter, as you mention, with sunny days which have been beautiful in their own way. Still, I’m ready the change of season and swapping sandals for boots! I hope you enjoy your remaining days in Mexico and bring warmth this way as you travel.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Yes we are enjoying the views and the people here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I'm hoping not to have to swap running shoes for snow boots when we get home. lol. That would be very sad. Hopefully old man winter takes the hint and leaves soon.

So glad you fell into a routine of sorts in Cabo. Very pleased that you have booked next season somewhere in Mexico's well. It takes a while to get use to the slower pace of life here but so peaceful. We finally sold our home in Kelowna and that has taken some pressure off of us. We remain as busy as ever, making changed for our future. Contessa
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the sale, I know it's been stressful for both of you. I'm sure when the sale of your Rv is completed you will be very stressless compared to now. We are enjoying the experience and we are looking forward to more of the same in the upcoming years as we figure out our new winter home but it will definitely be in Mexico. Thank you for the support Contessa.

It's about damn time you updated us on your life! I for one, have been wondering how you are doing. We thought about you the other day when we left Mexico and went up Olgivy (?) road. We went right by your old camping spot!
ReplyDeleteWell it's about damn time you learned the proper direction or did you have to back track again? Or maybe you were afraid to go back to our Ogilby Rd campsite because you would get turned around and lost? Although Barb would have come to your rescue I'm sure, telling you what to do but knowing you I'm not sure you would have listened anyway. Lol. I'm happy to see you folks back in the desert at least. I wish we could have been there for a visit. Take care friends.

All of that is probably true so we stayed on the bumpy blacktop to make sure we did not get lost.
DeleteQuite a few years ago, I drove all the way down to Cabo - and spent the night right in the parking lot at the Marina in my truck camper. Glad you've enjoyed your stay, but missed you and Doug and the gang up 'north' in Arizona!
