All caught up now.....

Our Location: Oakdale Campground, Quincy, Ohio

A quiet night here in the campground, we both slept well with the sound of frogs as our night time music.

Our spot this year at Oakdale Campground.

This morning found us with our hoodies off and enjoying the warmth of the spring air. The park is pretty busy today as it’s the first open day of the season in the park. Numerous folks coming to open up, park, set up and air out the summer spot.

The road we'll take to leave the campground next week.

We spent some time exercising our walking shoes this morning by putting a couple of miles under them. The warmth of the sun soon faded though as the clouds came in and covered the sun off and on for most of the day. We spent the rest of the day just enjoying the peace and quiet and relaxing. Tomorrow we have some errands to accomplish.

The Miami River.

It’s going to be a very quiet week for us here in Ohio but I’m sure we’ll manage to enjoy the time. Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed your visit.

A different view of our spot.

Until next time… take care, be safe,

Deb

  1. So how is the tire? It must be holding air or else I missed you telling us that you got it fixed. Glad your travelling along nicely in spite of the problem. Safe Travels.

    1. The tire is good, loses a couple of pounds over a few days but not a travel issue. I'll wait until we get home to Ontario to have it fixed. We are going to sit for a week now and just wait for warmer weather to hit Ontario or until we have to cross, or maybe both. Hahaha.

    1. Thanks George. Not the most pristine park but we like our spot along the river and the folks are friendly, hard to beat that.

    1. Thanks Shirley. The river certainly makes the campground appealing and the large oak trees I'm certain are beautiful when in leaf. Spring is always a bit of a drab season until things get cleaned up and they are working hard to do that.
The temps are good and while we are expecting a bit of a cold day on Wednesday we're keeping our fingers crossed.

    1. Thanks Bill. We always enjoy the last sit before we cross into Ontario. Anticipation maybe, although we won't really be home until next month when we arrive in Northern Ontario, it's still nice to be back in Ontario.

  5. Looks like a good park to stop over before the final push. It looks like that tree by the river has steps up the trunk. Is that for jumping in? Kids would love that!
Enjoy the week of relaxing. We've had a great couple of days and still nothing nasty coming as far as we know. In about a week, it will be great here. :)

    1. Thanks Patsy. There are two trees with some sort of steps built on the trunks. I'm pretty certain it's for jumping into the river, but it could be for reaching a tire swing (not hung yet this season), although no one has said and I've not asked anyone. Both sites look as if kids are around, so I'm thinking it's definitely a kid type thing.
I know farther north they were expecting some kind of weather but when I last talked to dad they hadn't determined if it was rain or snow. If rain, that means more of the snow will be gone and we can head north earlier, if snow, we'll be hanging out at Buttercup Ridge for a while longer.
