Cold northwest wind today....

Our Location: Saddle Mountain BLM, Tonopah, Arizona

(Today's pics are just some of my favourite taken here at Saddle Mountain BLM)

The wind picked up for a bit last night but once I fell asleep I no longer heard it. I went out around 10 pm when I heard the Blue Boy fall over and moved it and the ladder to lay flat under the Igloo. I’ll put those things back where they go today or tomorrow. I still have a few outside windows to clean.

The same tempo this morning as yesterday when I looked around 7 am, it sits at 39F/3.9C. Nice for sleeping with the vents and windows closed and an extra blanket on the bed. The one thing I miss from having a sticks ’n bricks house is my bed warmer. Since we are dry camping more than we have hook ups, it seems kind of silly to haul one around when I’ll only use it for a maybe couple of weeks of the year. I used to love it in the house though.

I talked to my Dad last night for a bit. Like me, he is enjoying the mountain views and the sunsets. I think it makes the snow covered yard at his house seem a little less dreary. Not much new up there on the rock in the middle of the water. They are expecting some colder weather this coming week, but I don’t recall if he said they were getting more snow.

I ventured outside only a couple of times as necessary today. The wind from the northwest was very cold. The temps reached mid 50’s/ 12C but the cold wind encouraged an inside day. With nothing to block the wind it wasn’t possible to find any relief from it. The wind while not howling was constant all day long, and most of last night as well.

Two campers that we know of moved out today, which in these winds seems a bit foolhardy but who can say for certain. We looked toward Quartzsite to see some evidence of blowing dust for most of the morning and early afternoon.  So now no one is behind us. There is a new unit in front of Don, very close to Courthouse Road but that’s about all the movement  we’ve seen today.

We spent day inside doing a little cleaning, a bit of reading, a bit of …you get the picture. So I have nothing to post tonight except that I have nothing to post.

So on that note, I’ll sign off. Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time…. take care, be safe,

Deb

With all the dust blowing around you were wise to stay inside.

    1. It was hard to get the door to open far enough to get out at times, the wind wanted it stay shut until halfway then it wanted it all the way open quickly.

  4. It was windy here as well but no dust blowing, Wind had a nice sunny spot in from of our coach and out of the wind that works great for us. Keep warm and comfy inside.

  5. We managed but we ran a heater off and on throughout the day. The wind kept things chilly enough that there was no where to hide from it. Glad you and Suzie stayed warm!
