We are just doing what friends do for each other.
The flies are a result of the increase in size of the local chicken growing operation according to the locals. The place more than doubled in size and since then the flies have been an issue. They are even causing issues as far away as Buckeye. It is really too bad as it is causing a great deal of hardship for the local businesses and families. When we were here last year it was really bad for about 3 days and then they just disappeared. I think it has something to do with the weather, cooler weather, less flies, warmer weather and you are swarmed.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-76421967327463074372020-02-06T10:53:40.716-05:002020-02-06T10:53:40.716-05:00Thanks Deb. A calming voice, and few calming words are often all that is needed to help ease the stress level a bit. The sunset in the window/mirror was stunning but I thought the picture was at least a little bit representative of what we could see behind us. At that point we just wanted to see Q in the rear view!
The saguaro is out back behind the garage to the south of the building. If you go to the back side you can see it or at least with nothing parked in front you can see. With the dumpster beside it I would imagine it will stay pretty clear of rigs.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-45401795724889500312020-02-06T10:50:13.715-05:002020-02-06T10:50:13.715-05:00Thanks Shirley. Sometimes a calming voice or words go a long way in those extremely stressful situations. We are just happy we could help him.
Doug says he doesn't have a lot of stuff to move but we'll see when we start doing it. Although I'm glad it's not from a monster to another monster. Haha.
I think the walk through was truly a waste of time. If we could have spent the time with John the mechanic guy it would have been a much better use of Doug's money. My opinion only.

Enjoy your own new rig!!!! I'm excited for you folks.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-91266780741068363242020-02-06T10:47:07.674-05:002020-02-06T10:47:07.674-05:00Thanks Nancy. Not that I could do much except listen and offer some calming words, often times as you know just having someone standing beside you is enough.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-20437600440279762292020-02-06T10:45:47.426-05:002020-02-06T10:45:47.426-05:00Thanks Rick. It was a very long day and the stress/excitement/anxiety was very high. I have no doubt the White Lion will get a ding or two because that's the way it is but he'll do fine once he settles down and has a few miles under his belt.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-36128956789276497162020-02-06T10:42:44.496-05:002020-02-06T10:42:44.496-05:00Very nice of you to assist Doug and Yuma. Before ...Very nice of you to assist Doug and Yuma. Before Christmas when I was at Saddle Mountain, I was down Courthouse road as far as you can go while still staying on BLM. It would almost be as far as you can get from the Chicken farm and the flies were terrible there also. They were even bad along the hydro road to the north of Salome Road. Wonder what it is, that has made it so bad this year. After all, the farm has been there for a few years now. Especially with the moving from one rig to the the other. Having read his blog about the pick up and walk thru, if you can call it that, I know how much he appreciated you being there and to have Riley taking care of Yuma while you two had that "fun".
Really like your sunset picture in the rear view mirror and considering how many times we have been at RV Lifestyles the past couple of months I cannot believe I never noticed that Saguaro. We know from reading Doug's blog how GREATLY appreciated it was and still is! Nice of you too help with the move from one to another! After just emptying our little 19 footer, I can imagine how that will be with his 30 footer, (unless like a guy he doesn't have much haha). I feel like that if they're charging him for the "walk thru" they better know what they're talking about or don't charge! You are an awesome friend!
