I've been watching for your return for a while and hope that you will continue to move forward finding joy and excitement in your life again. I agree, it is a very rough road, a very lonely road. Sometimes the smallest steps forward are the hardest but once you make them, the ones to follow are easier to make. I'll be stopping by at On My Own to read about your adventures. One day at a time is the only way to go forward, and I know you will eventually find your way. You are a strong woman!

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-1242276596399716712020-01-29T23:07:00.102-05:002020-01-29T23:07:00.102-05:00I'm glad you are enjoying the time we spend ou...I'm glad you are enjoying the time we spend out here in the desert. I too followed a few bloggers that travelled out here, enjoying what they shared in their posts either in the written word and or in the photos they posted. Now I am able to live this dream for myself.

To a point, yes, one of the downsides to an RV park is having neighbours so close by, with little or no kind of privacy. Not all neighbours are bad and I don't mean to imply they are, but for us, and I can speak only for Riley and I, we don't enjoy the RV park lifestyle very much. We prefer the open spaces, the quiet, the unobstructed views, the nature, the freedoms of being able to enjoy our space. We truly enjoy visits from folks, and having our friends park near/with us is always enjoyable and a treat but we also enjoy time just spent enjoying those things I've mentioned above.
We find the parks to be too crowded and too noisy. We wouldn't use the amenities anyway, things like pools, hot tubs, club house, group activities or exercise rooms. With so many folks in a park there is always too much going on to be restful. We much prefer the stillness and peace of being outside the park bounds.

We have 4 solar panels on the roof, 4 batteries in our cubbie and a small generator that meets all of our power needs. WE can easily find a laundromat, dump station, water dispenser and a place to put our trash. We usually have great phone service and internet (our current situation is not usual). So all of our needs and wants are usually covered.

This is just the way we like to do things, and it is only our opinion, it's what works best for us. I'm not saying any other way is wrong because it isn't, but for us, it's not what we want nor enjoy.

The photos are usually things that capture my attention or that I think a few folks back home might enjoy. I'm glad you like them.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-40315934509922895182020-01-29T22:23:29.315-05:002020-01-29T22:23:29.315-05:00Thanks Shirley. I find it difficult sometimes to pick only a few and so I simply don't worry to much about picking just a couple as most folks have no issue with lots of photos.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-48388926545441238122020-01-29T22:21:59.778-05:002020-01-29T22:21:59.778-05:00Perfect is a matter of perception and I think we&#...Perfect is a matter of perception and I think we've found the best spot for us for a few days. WE can get the internet, just not able to call out on the phone. We could have changed spots if we were going to be here alone or for a long time but we're happy with this one.

Take care, be safe,
DebOn a long and lonesome highway....https://www.blogger.com/profile/13585276461507236822noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-84836498933327108472020-01-29T22:20:31.243-05:002020-01-29T22:20:31.243-05:00I think we're happy here where we are now. I'm so sorry to hear that your husband also died of Multiple Myeloma. It's a very rough road. The loneliness is the worst. It's nice that you have your daughter. I have since gotten a post up on my original blog to refer previous followers to my new one after nearly a year of not blogging. I guess I'll see whether I keep it up or they follow. Many thanks for your kind words. www.onmyowndays.blogspot.com
Sherryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00328866430156879312noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4220239671215406231.post-7411401109792181832020-01-28T17:58:09.008-05:002020-01-28T17:58:09.008-05:00I've been following a few blogs of RVer's ...I've been following a few blogs of RVer's (yes, I'm envious of you all so am living vicariously through your blogs), and it's interesting to me that you prefer to park outside of RV park. I assume there would be more amenities, and perhaps more reliable internet in a park but the downside would be the proximity of neighbours, correct?

My favorite photo of the sunset is the first one. Isn't it funny how much we depend on the internet now?
